01 / Scope

This policy explains Ghost Translate's iPhone and Apple Watch features and this product website. Ghost Translate is operated by Moxitek Pty Ltd (NanoHits) in Australia. NanoHits' main website privacy policy provides additional information about nanohits.com; this page describes product-specific processing.

The app does not require a Ghost Translate account. Apple and other service providers may have their own privacy terms for their part of the experience.

02 / Camera and translation

Ghost Translate asks for camera permission to recognize visible text. Camera frames and recognized text are processed on your iPhone using Apple's Vision and Translation frameworks. Ghost Translate does not send camera frames or recognized text to a Ghost translation server. Freezing a frame keeps it in memory rather than automatically saving it as a photograph.

You can choose to share or export text or an image. When you do, the destination you choose through the iOS sharing interface controls what happens to that copy. Machine translation can be inaccurate; check the original for important information.

03 / Saved phrases and Watch

When you save a translation, the app stores the original text, translated text, source and target languages, date, and optional collection locally on the iPhone using Apple's SwiftData storage. It does not attach camera frames to saved phrases. You can export saved text or delete saved phrases and collections in the app.

If you install the Apple Watch companion on a paired Watch, the iPhone sends saved phrase text to it using Apple's WatchConnectivity. The Watch keeps a local copy so you can read saved phrases and play the original aloud. The Watch does not capture images or perform live camera translation. Removing phrases on iPhone updates the Watch when the devices next sync; copies you exported elsewhere are not removed.

04 / Language choices and local settings

The app keeps selected language pairs, daily translation allowance information, your preferred destination currency, and cached exchange rates in local device settings. Translation language models and their availability are managed by iOS; a model download may require a connection to Apple's services. A language being listed as available does not guarantee that every photographed text will be recognized or translated correctly.

05 / Optional exchange rates and purchases

When you request a price conversion and a current rate is needed, the app requests exchange-rate data from Frankfurter using the source and destination currency codes. It does not send the camera image, the recognized text, or the price itself in that request. The exchange-rate provider and its network operators may receive ordinary connection data such as your IP address and request time; its own policy governs its processing.

Optional Pro purchases and restorations use Apple's StoreKit and App Store. Apple processes payment and subscription information; Ghost Translate reads verified entitlement information to enable Pro benefits. The app does not collect your payment card details. 06 / Website contact form

If you choose to contact us through this website, we process the name, reply-to email address, and message you submit to respond to your enquiry and provide support. Please do not send passwords, payment card information, sensitive health information, or anything else unnecessary for your enquiry. Your email address is not published on this site.

The website's Caddy server may keep access or error logs containing connection and request details, such as IP address, timestamp, requested path, user-agent and response status, for operation, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.

07 / Website providers and security checks

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check submissions for automated abuse. Cloudflare may process browser, device, network, and interaction signals and use necessary browser storage for that check. Submitted enquiries are delivered by SMTP2GO, which processes your contact details and message to deliver email. Hosting, security, and mail providers may process information outside Australia under their own terms.

This website uses your device's system fonts rather than requesting fonts from a third party. Necessary security features may use browser storage. Technical safeguards reduce risk but cannot guarantee absolute security.

08 / Retention and security

Saved phrases and local preferences remain on your device until you delete them, remove the app, or change them using the app's controls. Any Watch copy follows its paired-device sync; exported copies are managed by the destination you selected.

Contact enquiries and related email correspondence may be retained as reasonably needed to respond, maintain support records, resolve disputes, protect the service, or meet legal obligations. Server logs may be retained for security and reliability. Information transmitted online cannot be guaranteed completely secure.

09 / Your choices and rights

You can deny or change camera permission in iOS Settings, remove saved phrases and collections in the app, manage purchased subscriptions through Apple, and choose whether to use optional price conversion and the website contact form. For website-enquiry information, you can request access, correction, or deletion through the contact form. We may ask you to verify your identity and retain records where legally required.

10 / Changes and privacy questions

We may update this policy when the app, website, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies this version. For a privacy request or complaint, use the Ghost Translate contact form.
