Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy covers the Petstead iPhone app and the Petstead pages at nanohits.com. Petstead is operated by Moxitek Pty Ltd in Australia.

Information you put in Petstead

Petstead stores information you choose to enter, including pet profiles and photographs, care plans, medication instructions, care receipts and corrections, Last Done facts, household responsibility records, upcoming dates, contacts, notes, and handover selections.

Petstead does not diagnose, interpret health information, calculate dosage, or automatically recommend care.

Local storage and iCloud

Petstead is local-first and does not require a Petstead account. App data is stored on your device. Private owner backup and restore use Apple iCloud and CloudKit associated with your Apple Account. Apple may process that data under its own terms and privacy policy.

Household sharing is separate from private backup. You choose which pets to share, and medication information is excluded unless you explicitly include it. People who accept a Household invitation may receive the selected data through CloudKit. Removing access triggers deletion from the shared CloudKit area, but a previously exported file or copy already saved by another person is outside Petstead’s control.

Handover exports

Petstead creates handover PDFs locally from the pets, date range, contacts, notes, and medication information you select. When you use the iOS Share Sheet, the receiving app or service handles the exported file under its own privacy practices.

Apple services

Petstead may use Apple services for iCloud synchronization, local notifications, alarms, and App Store purchases. Apple processes purchase and subscription information; Moxitek does not receive your full payment-card details. StoreKit provides Petstead with entitlement and transaction status needed to provide purchased features.

Website contact form

When you contact us, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide so we can respond. Please do not submit passwords, payment details, or sensitive health information. Contact messages are delivered through our email service provider.

Cloudflare Turnstile protects the form from automated abuse and may process browser, device, network, and interaction signals under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Our server may record limited technical information needed for security and reliability, such as IP address, request time, requested path, browser information, and response status.

Analytics and advertising

Petstead does not include advertising SDKs or behavioural analytics SDKs. The Petstead website does not use advertising or behavioural analytics cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile may use necessary browser storage or similar technologies for its security check.

How we use information

We use information only to operate Petstead, provide requested features and support, process purchases and entitlements, secure the service, troubleshoot faults, respond to enquiries, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell or rent personal information and do not use contact-form submissions for unrelated advertising.

Retention and deletion

App records remain until you remove them through Petstead, remove the app or its local data, or manage the corresponding iCloud data. CloudKit deletions can require network access to finish. Contact enquiries and related correspondence are kept only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain business and support records, resolve disputes, protect the service, and comply with legal obligations. Operational logs are retained only as needed for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted transport, Apple platform access controls, explicit sharing boundaries, anti-abuse verification, request limits, and restricted server credentials. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Access, correction, and deletion requests

You can edit or delete app records through Petstead. To ask about information associated with a website enquiry, use the contact form and describe your request. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and some records may need to be retained where required by law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Petstead, its providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
